There were rumors circulating in the past week but now it seems to be safe to say that Luke will play the villain in the next FF franchise.

Luke Evans in talks for 'Fast & Furious 6'
Thesp will segue to U actioner from 'The Hobbit'
Universal has set one of the final pieces of "Fast and Furious 6," as Luke Evans is in negotiations to star as the villain opposite Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson.
Sources tell Variety that Evans has worked out scheduling issues with his work on "The Hobbit" and will transition immediately from the Peter Jackson pic.
Justin Lin will direct, with Chris Morgan penning the script. Plot details are scant, but sources say it would involve the crew heading overseas to work on a heist job. Evans would play the leader of another crew trying to pull off the same job.
Neal Moritz will produce along with Diesel and Clayton Townsend through Moritz's Original Film banner.
Evans can be seen currently in Relativity's "The Raven." He was also in the running for Warner Bros.' "Winter's Tale" before Colin Farrell got the offer.
He is repped by WME and United Agents.

Luke Evans Confirmed as Villain for FAST AND FURIOUS 6; Story Involves Dueling Heist Teams
Last week, we learned that Luke Evans (The Raven) had been offered the villain role in Fast and Furious 6. Given that the actor has an increasingly busy schedule as of late (he’s currently filming The Hobbit), we weren’t sure at the time that he’d be able to take the role. Well, now Variety has confirmed that Evans is currently in negotiations to play the baddie in the sixth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, opposite returning members Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Dwayne Johnson. Moreover, the casting confirmation comes with some exciting plot details concerning Fast and Furious 6. Hit the jump for more.
fast-and-furious-6-luke-evansWe already knew that the Justin Lin-directed Fast and Furious 6 would be taking place overseas, and Johnson recently told Steve that they’ll specifically be filming in London and Berlin. Variety’s casting report notes that the plot involves everyone’s favorite street racing crew going across the pond to work on a heist job. Evans’ villain role is that of the leader of another crew attempting to pull off the same job. We previously learned that Jason Statham turned down a role in the film, so presumably he was offered this same villain that Evans will be playing.
Before the release of the surprisingly great Fast Five, rumors arose that Universal was toying with the idea of switching up the genre of the franchise and churning out a series of heist movies. Five got the ball rolling on the whole heist idea, and with the Fast and Furious 6 plot details centering around a heist, it definitely sounds like the rumors were true.
I’m not a huge fan of the franchise but I enjoyed the hell out of Fast Five. If Fast and Furious 6 maintains the same level of entertainment and injects an interesting heist plot, I’d definitely be up for a few more films in the Fast and Furious Robbers franchise. The only other newcomer confirmed to the cast besides Evans at this point is Haywire star and MMA fighter Gina Carano (there were rumors of Rihanna circling a villainous role, but those have yet to pan out), so it’ll be interesting to see what cast additions make up Evans’ team. Fast and Furious 6 starts production this June, with Evans moving straight into the franchise after he wraps The Hobbit.
