Film star inspires Harlow youngsters
A GROUP of unemployed Harlow youngsters received star treatment last week when they spent the day with an up-and-coming movie actor.
Luke Evans, who starred in Tamara Drew and Robin Hood, visited the seven young people from the Harlow Prince’s Trust youth charity team programme to discuss his experiences with bullying when he was growing up.
He then ran a special drama workshop for the youngsters - who have all suffered from bullying themselves - to help them see how they can use their experiences with bullying to make them stronger.
Luke, who is an official Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to meet these young people currently taking part on the Team programme. When I was growing up I faced bullying at school and know first-hand the effect this can have.”
He added: “I am proud to support the work of The Prince’s Trust, helping young people move into employment, training or education.”
The Prince’s Trust youth team programme is a 12-week personal development course run with Essex County Council which aims to increase the skills and confidence of young people to help them find a job.
